The Role
This position will lead the Fixed Plant Mechanical Maintenance team and is accountable for the safe execution of all mechanical maintenance activities.
The Supervisor is responsible for employing the relevant business processes for the identification and prioritisation of corrective work, fault finding and fixing of breakdowns, allocation of qualified resources for the safe and efficient execution of work, capturing all work order history, and driving equipment reliability improvement to achieve the annual maintenance goals.
This is a full-time, permanent position, on a 8/6 roster, ex FIFO from Perth to our Mt Holland Mine Site
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinating and supervising the daily and weekly planned maintenance activities of the Fixed Plant maintenance team to ensure reliability of equipment and productivity of labour, using the relevant asset management processes.
• Ensure statutory compliance through a clear understanding of all statutory requirements and prioritising the planning and execution of statutory work.
• Strong understanding of both production and maintenance strategies for large scale processing plant.
• Determine, review, and/or approve work scopes for the Fixed Plant maintenance activities considering technical requirements and resource constraints.
• QA/QC of work completed ensuring it was done to the desired standard to achieve the expected equipment reliability.
• Monitor the performance of the Fixed Plant maintenance function against key performance indicators.
• Identify risks that have the capacity to compromise Fixed Plant performance outcomes and drive resolution of these issues to mitigate any impacts to desired outcomes.
• Drive value creation across the maintenance department by implementing continuous improvement in line with Operational Excellence.
• Actively lead and participate in the establishment of a health and safety culture, leading by example, and setting the required health and safety standards.
• Strong leadership skills, including providing technical direction and guidance for the maintenance teams.
• Develop a team culture of continuous improvement aligned with Covalent’s values.
Role Requirements
• 5+ years in Fixed Plant maintenance and mineral processing, including at least 3 years in a supervisory and/or leadership capacity
• Experience in transitioning from plant commissioning to steady state operations.
• A clear understanding of reliability centred maintenance and preventative maintenance.
• Previous shutdown and maintenance / process plant experience in mining environment (preferably in hard rock lithium processing).
• Experience in managing multi-discipline teams driving a high-performance culture through positive working relationships and leveraging company values and behaviours
• Previous Section 44 statutory appointment and knowledge of legislative requirements, statutory and regulatory codes.
• Knowledge of budgeting, capital expenditure management and project management.
• Demonstrated track record of problem solving and solution implementation delivering significant process improvements.
• Ability to work in remote and/or arid environmental conditions.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification and/or Trade background.
• Competent with basic root cause analysis methodology (5 Why’s)
• Computerised Maintenance Management System experience (SAP or Pronto desirable)
• Previous appointment as classified plant inspector desirable but not essential.
• Valid drivers licence
• First Aid certificate
