The Role


In this role you will provide high quality receipting, storage, issuance and record-keeping for a range of inventory held and processed by the relevant Covalent warehouse, and to assist with operating the warehouse to an exceptional standard of safety, efficiency, operational discipline, and effectiveness. 


This is a Permanent full-time position on an 8:6 FIFO roster ex Perth to our Mt Holland site 

 

Key Responsibilities 
•    Provide a quality service to all staff at the service counter and in response to requisition picking slips
•    Receive and check deliveries against order, being aware of the nature and type of goods (chemical and general consumables) used by the site and implications with respect to safety, storage, and handling within the store
•    Maintain on-line register of deliveries and stock
•    Organise despatch of road and air freight
•    Maintain appropriate register of outwards freight despatched
•    Reconcile consignment notes and orders
•    Identify and investigate anomalies between physical and recorded stock levels, including but not only as part of the stocktaking program
•    Manual handling of incoming goods, as required
•    Complete regular reagent counts and fuel dips
•    Complete rolling stock counts as directed
•    Maintain accurate records of issues, receipts, stocktakes, etc
•    Assist with training other personnel
•    Inspect work area, equipment and stores for hazards, damage and defects and maintain high standard of housekeeping
•    Store all goods in accordance with established layout plans and safe storage guidelines
•    Assist maintenance planning personnel in their interactions with the warehouse and inbound logistics network
•    Contribute to the identification and implementation of proposals to improve warehouse service standards

 

Role Requirements
•    Current forklift ticket & operational experience up to 10T forklifts
•    Current HR Class driver’s licence
•    Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a stores environment, preferably in the mining industry
•    Extensive knowledge of stores and supply documentation and procedures
•    Extensive knowledge of the Chain of Responsibility legislation as contained in the Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008, the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2012 and the objectives of CoR
