The Role

 

We have an exciting Senior Resource Geologist opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Covalent Lithium Geology team. You will be responsible for building orebody knowledge through the development and continuous improvement and sharing of geological resource models, the periodic updating of these models, developing annual drill programs, geology data acquisition and analysis, and ensuring the timely delivery of information required to update Mineral Resource Estimates and mine plans.

 

This is a permanent, full time position offering a balanced work arrangement between Perth and the Mt Holland mine on a 5:2 / 4:3 roster. Please note, we are open to discussion on this roster for the right candidate. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 


•    Champion orebody knowledge and improvement initiatives.
•    Develop and implement a fit-for-purpose Geology and Mineral Resource Estimation management process.
•    Provide inputs into the improvement of geological processes including mapping, sampling, interpretation, reconciliation and QAQC practices.
•    Regularly review and maintain geological interpretations and wireframing/3D models.
•    Provide timely inputs into Mineral Resource modelling and technical reporting.
•    Collaborate with the site geology team in developing and supporting grade control and resource definition drilling programs.
•    Assist the site geology team with their provision of accurate GC and Digblock model estimates for short and medium-term planning.
•    Provide resource information for the Long Term and Life of Mine plans.
•    Maintain high levels of data capture accuracy and bolster the geology database via analysis, audits and implementation improvements when possible.

 

Role Requirements


•    Tertiary qualification in Geology (BSc or recognised equivalent).
•    Demonstrated (5+ years) experience in a combination of Resource, Operations and / or Exploration Geology.
•    Experienced in resource modelling, geostatistical and estimation techniques, and demonstrated proficiency with appropriate software (e.g. Leapfrog, Surpac and acQuire, or similar).
•    Demonstrated understanding of drilling/sampling and QAQC processes.
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Willingness to work collaboratively in a small technical team.
