The Role

 

We are currently looking for a Pit Technician to join our Geology team at Mt Holland. This role will see you utilising your previous experience and give you the opportunity to collaborate in a team providing Geological support in relation to grade control, data collection, ore sampling and mark ups.

 

This is a full time, permanent opportunity working on a 8:6, 7:7 (Dayshift/Nightshift) roster ex Perth to our Mt Holland site.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ore spotting
  • Assist survey & geologist team in ore block mark outs
  • Organise and undertake site preparation, mark out and sampling of pit grade control programs (RC and Blast hole)
  • Complete accurate recording of samples and sample sheets
  • Record and dispatch samples from grade control programs or stockpiles to the onsite laboratory
  • Assist Geologists with the preparation of areas within the pit for mapping.
  • Reconciling ore and waste truck tallies
  • ROM and stockpile inspections
  • Collect and transport diamond drill core from drill sites to core farm if required
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the core farm
  • Process diamond drill core to an acceptable standard as required
  • Maintain all geology and grade control consumables in a proper condition and adequate quantities to ensure smooth operation of the geology operation
  • Liaise with production personnel to ensure optimal ore mining techniques are utilised

 

Role Requirements

  • Current Manual Drivers Licence
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Previous experience working in an open cut mine environment
  • Previous experience with grade control and/or exploration drilling works
  • Previous experience operating forklift/IT (desirable)
