The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding, supportive mining team at Mt Holland. You will provide operational support to the Mt Holland Technical services team for short and medium planning horizons, including drill and blast designs, schedules, mine/infrastructure designs, and development projects. You'll also assist in monitoring the mining contractor and the review, improvement and conformance of the contractors plans and support with commercial clarification and information.
This is a full time, permanent role on a 8:6 roster to Mt Holland, ex Perth.
Role Responsibilities
• Participate in the establishment of an inclusive and successful health and safety culture in Mine Tech Services and at Mt Holland.
• Provide technical input to the mine operations including:
o Mine planning
o Mine, landform, and Infrastructure design
o Drill and Blast Design and QA/QC
o Progress reporting
o Contractor management
o Mining methodology
• Develop, communicate, and support Mt Holland short term planning (48hr, 2 week and Integrated Monthly Plan (IMP) including:
o Coordinate all inputs and assumptions (operational and maintenance) and lead the pre-planning meeting.
o Complete the plan and all reporting and roll the plan out to the business and contractors.
o Ensure compliance to plans is measured and reported with improvements and actions as needed.
• Assist in the completion of the Integrated Quarterly Planning (IQP), Life of Mine (LOM) and preparation of annual budget plans.
• Assist in reporting of all site activities including ensuring reports and measurements to budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance to all approval’s commitments and all approvals and reporting requirements are addressed in a timely way.
• Participate in reviews and understand the LOM and expansion study project.
• Drive safe mining operation philosophy and performance.
• Assist with Geotechnical data preparation.
Role requirements
• Degree Qualified in Mining Engineering or equivalent qualification or relevant industry experience
• 2-5 years’ experience in open pit, hard rock mining operations and mine planning, preferably with lithium exposure.
• Drill and blast experience.
• Experience managing complex mining contracts.
• Mine software skills, including experience with mining related software in particular Alastri production and tactical scheduler software, Deswik and shotplus.
• Unrestricted WA Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is desirable
