The Role


The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the Integrated Monthly Mine Plan, including mine schedules, planning, and development projects, as well as ensuring monthly conformance to plan and taking any necessary follow-up actions. 


The role also involves assisting in the monitoring of the mining contractor, reviewing and improving the contractor's plans, ensuring conformance, and providing support with commercial clarification and information. 


Additionally, the position provides support for Integrated Quarterly Planning, Life of Mine Planning, and reporting activities for Mt Holland. 


This is a permanent full-time position fifo EX Perth to our Mt Holland site on an 8:6 roster.

 

Key Responsibilities 


•    Participate in the establishment of an inclusive and successful health and safety culture in Mine Tech Services and at Mt Holland. 
•    Undertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements, all approvals and Covalent policies & procedures.
•    Comply with all health and safety, environmental and regulatory policies relating to the project and ensure a safe working environment.
•    Complete the integrated monthly planning for Mt Holland, including.
           - Coordinate all inputs and assumptions (operational and maintenance) and lead the pre-planning meeting.
           - Complete the plan and all reporting and roll the plan out to the business.
           - Ensure compliance to plans is measured and reported with improvements and actions as needed.
•    Assist in the completion of the Integrated Quarterly Planning and preparation of annual budget plans.
•    Assist in reporting of all site activities including ensuring reports and measurements to budgets and forecasts are included.
•    Ensure compliance to all approval’s commitments and all approvals and reporting requirements are addressed in a timely way.
•    Provide technical input to the mine operations, including mine planning, progress reporting, design, and contractor management.
•    Participate in reviews and understand the LOM and expansion study project.
•    Drive safe mining operation philosophy and performance.
•    Help guide the mining operations to ensure the most appropriate mining methodology.
•    Assist with QA/QC of drill and blast.
•    Assist with Geotechnical data preparation.
•    Mine infrastructure and landform design.
•    Participate blast master workshops.

 

Role Requirements


•    Degree Qualified in Mining Engineering or equivalent
•    A valid C Class Manual Driver’s License 
•    Unrestricted WA Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is desirable
•    2-5 years’ experience in open pit, hard rock mining operations and mine planning, preferably with lithium exposure.
•    Drill and blast experience.
•    Experience managing complex mining contracts.
•    Mine software skills, including experience with mining related software in particular Alastri production and tactical scheduler software and MineMax or Deswik products.
