The Role


Reporting to the Superintendent Environment, the key purpose of this role is to undertake environmental management activities on site, ensuring compliance with environmental approvals and Covalent Lithium procedures. 
This role will work closely with the Mt Holland operations and projects teams, providing practical environmental support and advice.


The role will be based at our Mt Holland site on an 8:6 roster from Perth. Periods of construction and vegetation clearing activities may require temporary roster adjustments, including short-term 2:1 (weeks) or 4:3 arrangements, with advance notice provided.

 

Key Responsibilities 


•    Provide support and environmental advice to construction and operational personnel to ensure Project environmental impacts are managed and minimised.
•    Support ground disturbance permit processes and implement operational environmental controls (including fauna spotting) during vegetation clearing activities.
•    Undertake environmental monitoring (groundwater, surface water, dust etc) in line with management plans as required by approvals, licences and permits.
•    Conduct environmental inspections and audits to determine environmental performance.
•    Maintain compliance registers, data systems and incident records.
•    Assist in the preparation of statutory compliance reports for submission to external agencies and internal stakeholders.
•    Support the implementation, and maintenance of the Environmental Management System.
•    Comply with all health and safety, environmental and regulatory policies relating to the project and ensure a safe working environment.

 

Role Requirements


•    One to three years’ experience in a similar environmental role, preferably within the construction or mining industry.
•    Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline, or Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or equivalent).
•    High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Experience in Ground Disturbance Permit processes, fauna handling and fauna spotter activities (desirable).
•    GIS experience (desirable).
•    Knowledge of and experience with relevant state and federal government environmental legislation (desirable).
