The Role
The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is part of the team reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor. The objective of this role is to execute required maintenance activities (planned & unplanned) within Covalent Lithium’s health, safety, environmental, HR, and asset management policies. In steady state, the primary workplace will be in and around the Mt Holland concentrator around heavy machinery, dust and noise. With the Concentrator in an operational state the E&I Technician will provide support in delivering maintenance plans, tactics, safe work instructions, and commissioning activities while maintaining plant availability & driving improvement. From time-to-time the role will also provide support in maintaining NPI assets and infrastructure.
This is a full-time, permanent position, on a 8/6/7/7 roster, ex FIFO from Perth to our Mt Holland Mine Site
Key Responsibilities
• Execute the maintenance planned work, perform daily proactive & unplanned reactive maintenance activities for electrical and instrumentation systems on process equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical components and control systems to identify the causes of failures, including collecting evidence for further analysis.
• Install and maintain electrical infrastructure, ensuring its proper functionality and compliance with safety and regulatory standards to ensure Covalent Mount Holland meets required production targets.
• Conduct statutory electrical inspections and testing, recording results in compliance with regulations and requirements.
• Operate high-voltage switching and maintain high-voltage assets.
• Identify, report & engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant availability.
• Document maintenance activities, work order completions, and other relevant details accurately in the maintenance management system (SAP).
• At all times, act within Covalent Mount Holland safety, environmental and statutory standards.
• Report and contribute to the improvement of works procedures.
• Active participation in the establishment of a health and safety culture.
Role Requirements
• 2 years fixed plant maintenance – conveyors, ball mills, crushers, apron feeders, screens, pumps, DMS, floatation, DCS, Control systems etc.
• Certificate III in Electrical Engineering
• Certificate III or IV instrumentation
• Fault finding, high level diagnostic ability.
• Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of process plant equipment.
• WA Electrical License.
• HV switching operations certificate.
• Cert III or IV Instrumentation.
• A Manual C-class Australian driver’s license.
• A basic understanding of SAP maintenance systems (S4 Hana desirable).
• Recent National Police clearance or ability to obtain one.
• A team player with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
