The Role
Be part of the team delivering the Mt Holland Expansion Project. These newly created, project-specific roles offer a rare opportunity to contribute to a project of national significance, supporting growing global demand for critical minerals.
The Commercial Analyst – provides commercial analysis, contract support and financial insight to the Expansion Team.
The role supports the protection of Covalent Lithium’s commercial position across expansion related contracts, procurement activities, forecasts, claims, reporting and business improvement initiatives.
The position acts as an interface between the Expansion Team and Covalent’s Commercial, Finance, Legal, Procurement and Project Controls functions to support commercially sound decision-making and value-adding outcomes.
This is a two-year fixed term contract based at our Perth Office.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide commercial support to the Expansion team, working closely with Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Project Controls and operational stakeholders.
• Support the management of expansion-related contracts, including invoices, variations, claims, forecasting, KPIs and contract performance.
• Analyse commercial and supplier data to identify risks, cost trends, issues and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain financial and commercial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis and informed decision-making.
• Support budget tracking, expenditure forecasting, cost analysis and reporting across the Expansion team.
• Assist with tendering, commercial evaluations, negotiations and contract award activities as required.
• Prepare business cases, commercial analysis, reports and presentations to support key business decisions.
• Contribute to commercial strategies, process improvements and initiatives that improve value, manage risk and deliver strong project outcomes.
Role Requirements
• Advanced capability in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• SAP, ERP, Power BI, Power Platform or similar system experience is desirable.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial, finance, business analysis, project controls, procurement, business development or related roles.
• Experience with contracts, procurement processes, ERPs, financial analysis and commercial reporting.
• Experience developing financial models, forecasts, business cases, reports and presentations.
• Experience analysing contract performance, claims, variations, expenditure, commitments, risks and opportunities is desirable.
• Mining, resources, chemicals, construction, major projects or mineral processing experience is desirable.
• Operations, project or expansion/ramp-up experience is desirable
