The Role
This role will partner with site leadership and frontline teams to promote safe, efficient and compliant operations.
You will provide leadership, coaching and guidance to Site H&S Advisors and operational teams, while developing, implementing and maintaining health and safety systems, procedures and best practice across the site.
Working collaboratively with H&S and operational teams, you will drive effective risk management, continuous improvement and regulatory compliance across the operation.
This is a permanent, full-time FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Holland site, working a 4:3 roster.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with operational teams and site leadership to promote safe work practices and effective hazard and critical risk management.
• Provide expert health and safety advice, coaching and guidance to leaders, operational teams and contractors
• Implement and provide assurance of the Mine Safety Management System and Critical Risk Management framework.
• Lead health and safety initiatives, continuous improvement projects, engagement and workforce education.
• Lead Site Emergency Response Team in the Management and support emergency preparedness.
• Facilitate incident investigations in partnership with leaders, reporting and corrective actions to drive effective risk reduction.
• Conduct health and safety audits and assurance activities to ensure compliance with legislation, systems, policies and procedures.
• Partner with Health, Occupational Hygiene and Injury Management teams to ensure effective site programs and controls.
• Establish and maintain contractor health and safety standards, including auditing performance against legislative and contractual requirements.
• Influence contractors and site teams to continuously improve health and safety performance.
• Provide accurate health and safety reporting and facilitate required reporting to external regulators.
Role Requirements
• Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or a Diploma of Workplace Health and Safety
• 5 years experience in similar role
• Experience in leading teams
• High degree of initiative, self-motivation and resilience, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
