The Role

The Occupational Health and Hygiene Lead will provide expert health, wellbeing, injury management and prevention support to operational and functional teams, ensuring compliance with standards, legal requirements, and effective risk mitigation. 

Working closely with internal and external partners, you will contribute to ongoing initiatives for a safe and healthy workplace, aligning with organisational objectives and fostering enduring health outcomes for employees.

This is a Permanent full-time position based at our Kwinana Office.

Key Responsibilities 
•    Contribute strategic health, well-being, Health Surveillance direction. 
•    Develop, govern and continually improve Health Monitoring Program for workforce based on site hazard such as Chemicals, Silica, Noise, Dust etc. 
•    Ensure compliance to Health Monitoring requirements outlined in Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
•    Design and implement health, wellbeing, injury management and injury prevention policies, procedures, and programs.
•    Advise on Fitness for Work and Pre-employment medical programs
•    Provide health and wellbeing advice, education and training to employees and leaders.
•    Stay across industry trends and legislative/regulatory changes to ensure organisational compliance and best practice approach.
•    Support the development of mental health and psychosocial frameworks, systems, programs, and activities.
•    Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nutritionists, fitness trainers, and mental health professionals, to ensure provision of comprehensive care.
•    Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of health, wellbeing programs through data analysis and participant feedback to achieve a high standard of health and safety management.

Role Requirements
•    Health-related undergraduate or postgraduate qualification 
•    5+ years' experience in a relevant occupational health or health-related role 
•    Experience managing Health Monitoring Programs within mining or heavy industry 
•    Knowledge of occupational health, hygiene and wellbeing standards 
•    Working knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and regulatory requirements 
•    Demonstrated ability to advise, influence and collaborate with stakeholders
•    Strong program design, implementation and evaluation skills 
•    Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail
