The Role
This position will have responsibility for the operation of instrumentation and process control systems at the Kwinana Refinery.
You will be accountable for providing support to the Kwinana Refinery in developing, maintaining, modifying, and improving the control system and instrumentation strategies.
This is a Permanent Full-time position based at our Kwinana Refinery on a 5:2 roster.
Key Responsibilities
• Process control troubleshooting and diagnosis as well as drive continuous improvements through the development and/or refinement of Functional Descriptions, Process Control Tables and Functions Specifications.
• Ensuring instrumentation and control engineering work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
• Support the resolution of any instrumentation and control issues impacting the delivery of desired outcomes, including control system integration across all equipment packages.
• Executing trip checks, safety interlock and sequence checks.
• Engineering control system and instrumentation projects and commissioning activities whilst interacting with external parties and/or vendors to deliver successful implementation.
• Provide support to the development maintenance of process control Functional Specifications
• Liaison with other department engineers and the Information
• Coordinate and conduct Process Control System software and hardware Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing.
• Undertake projects to optimize plant performance.
• Provide technical input to the design process, commissioning, handover, and acceptance.
Role Requirements
• Qualification in control and instrumentation engineering or equivalent degree
• Certified Automation Professional (desirable)
• TUV Functional Safety Engineer (desirable)
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in similar roles preferably from the mining/resources industry.
• Process Control System engineering (preferably with Emerson DeltaV and Siemens PLCs) and judgement to assess suitability of design, identification of risks.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Sound understanding of complex technical design and engineering processes and the ability to manage these processes.
